Volunteer Opportunities
As a non-profit charitable organization, the YMCA relies on contributions of time and expertise along with funding contributions. Giving of your time to the YMCA helps others grow in achieving health and wellness. There are many opportunities for community members to get involved and be part of the good work of the Y. Child Watch
Our free, drop-in child care service is available for parents during their workout. Childwatch is almost entirely staffed by volunteers.
Health & Wellness
Many YMCA fitness instructors started out as members and now instruct on a volunteer basis. We also have volunteer opportunities to serve as Weight Room Chaperone. We offer training for our Health & Wellness volunteers. If you have a passion for helping others be healthy and would like to know more, we want to hear from you!
Housekeeping & Maintenance
Help with the daily vacuuming, dusting, laundry and other housekeeping is appreciated by both YMCA staff and members! Our maintenance department also has occasional large projects that rely on volunteers.
Aquatics
The YMCA aquatics curriculum is the “gold standard” in aquatics education. Volunteer positions for swim lesson instructor's aides and substitute water exercise instructors are available, and are a great way to improve your own skills while you help others. Youth Sports
YMCA Youth Sports programs are very popular and are always looking for volunteer coaches and referees.
Membership Office/Other Office
Administrative and office skills are always in demand! Help is needed with traditional office tasks such as data entry and filing, and with occasional special projects, such as special promotions and research projects.
Special Events
The Y holds frequent special events such as Healthy Kids Day, and Halloween at the YMCA. Help with set-up, clean-up, traffic control, and host/information tables is always appreciated.
