The Salem Family YMCA has been the leader in aquatics programs and education in the Salem community for nearly a century. Our pools are staffed by friendly, certified lifeguards and experienced instructors teach lessons using the YMCA of the USA’s Swim Lesson Guidelines – THE standard in the industry. In addition, our pools are home to a wide variety of aqua fitness classes, leisure and open swim times, plus lap swimming and family swim times
YMCA aquatics programs are held in two pools located in the basement of the building. The Large Pool is 20 yards long with four lanes and a depth range of four to nine feet. The pool is heated to 82-84 degrees. The Small Pool is 15 yards long by 40 feet wide, and is three to four feet deep. The small pool, also known as the warm pool, is heated to 90-93 degrees.
