YMCA Summer Safari
Welcome to the School Age Childcare program, YMCA Summer Safari,
where your days are filled with fun packed activities and the fun never stops.
Each school age program focuses on field trips, friendship, arts and crafts, cooking,
science, and physical activities based around weekly themes all in a safe and fun learning
environment. A USDA certified snack is served each day in the morning and the afternoon.
YMCA Summer Safari offers children a variety of activities based around weekly themes.
Children will have the opportunity to participate in exciting and educational field trips
to destinations both in the Salem/Keizer area and beyond. Field trips have ranged from
everything from a trip to OMSI in Portland to Bowling at Town & Country Lanes and much,
much more.
The costs of these field trips are included in the price of the scheduled care.
Dates: Weekdays, June 21st through August 27th.
Hours: 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday-Friday
Cost: $146 per week

Summer Enrichment Camps
For the summer of 2010, we are offering exciting enrichment programs to supplement your
child's summer experience. Whether your child is into crafts, science, dancing or the
outdoors we have the program for them. Wrap around care is available for all enrichment
camps and is available from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Cost of Enrichment camps: $168 per week
Cheer and Dance Camp
Come join us as we teach basic dance and cheer skills that will get you movin and
groovin this summer! With step by step instructions to some of today's hottest
dance moves your child will be dancing their way into new friendships and skills that
will last a lifetime!

Imagination Creation Camp
Your child is sure to have a craftastic time as they put their imaginations to the test!
Here at the Y's version of art and craft camp your child will come home each day with all
sorts of great projects like friendship bracelets, a painted wood car, watercolor fish, and
much, much more!

Mad Science Camp
Did you know that a volcano is simply a mountain with the hiccups? Here at Mad Science Camp
we will dive into the wacky world of science to see where our experiments take us!
Whether it's making Gak, building a bridge from toothpicks, or dropping eggs from a roof
top, your child is sure to have a hair raising experience each day!

Survivor Camp
Learn the basic of wilderness survival and more! At YMCA Survivor Camp your child will
learn how to build shelters, find and purify water, build fire, tie knots read a map and
compass and much more! They will also learn about search and rescue techniques along with
First Aid and CPR skills!

Explorers
The YMCA also offers an exciting program for children entering 6th through 8th grade.
This program provides a safe and structured environment, keeping their days filled with
friends, field trips, arts, crafts, and science. In addition, this program seeks to get
participants to experience the excitement of volunteering and working on community service
activities in both the YMCA and in the community. Past projects have included trips to our
beautiful coastal beaches, North Clackamas Aquatic Park, an overnight to Seattle's
Pike Place Market and Wild Waves, and painting fire hydrants in the Salem Downtown area.
A USDA certified snack is served each day in the morning and the afternoon.
